A Special Ceremony

by Joseph Morrison

During this morning's Lord's Day Service, I was honored to have been asked the following questions by the Senior Minister during a very special, albeit brief, ceremony:

1. Do you believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as originally given, to be the inerrant Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice?

2. Do you sincerely receive and adopt the Confession of Faith and the Catechisms of this Church as containing the system of doctrine taught in the Holy Scripture?

3. Do you promise to strive for the purity, peace, unity and edification of the Church?

4. Do you promise to submit yourself, in the Lord, to the government of this church so named Truth Chapel, or of any other into the bounds of which you may be called?

5- Do you herby summit yourself fully to the office of Executive Minister of Truth Chapel, and to live a life above reproach as you strive along with the Senior Minister to lead this Church into the future standing only on the Word of God.

My answer to each of these questions was: "Before God and this congregation, I solemnly answer, yes I do!"

Having given an affirmative answer to each of these important questions, I was officially commissioned as Executive Minister of Truth Chapel, and presented to the congregation.

I am humbled and honored by the priveleges and responsibilities that lay before me, and am trusting in God for clarity, wisdom and discretion in fullfulling the responsibilites of this office.

May God richly bless Truth Chapel as we, together, seek His face above all else.
