You Call This Church?!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the video that you are about to see was the opener for a service at Buckhead Church. The song that the 'ministers' of Buckhead chose to open their "church service" is called "Ladies & Gentlemen" by the secular band Saliva. Click Here to See just how "Christian" the band Saliva is. Also, here is a sample of the lyrics for this song.
Ladies and gentlemen please Would you bring your attention to me?For a feast for your eyes to seeAn explosion of catastrophe
Like nothing you’ve ever seen beforeWatch closely as I open this doorYour jaws will be on the floorAfter this you’ll be begging for more
Welcome to the showPlease come insideLadies and gentlemen
BoomDo you want it?Boom Do you need it?BoomLet me hear itLadies and gentlemen
Ladies and gentlemen good eveningYou’ve seen that seeing is believingYour ears and your eyes will be bleedingPlease check to see if you’re still breathing
Why are these 'pastors' bringing this garbage INTO the church? This doesn't glorify or exalt Jesus Christ.

More importantly, Pastor Jeff Henderson preached an 'evangelistic' sermon after this performance that boiled down to the statement that "Jesus came for the real you, not the fake you." Apparently, Jesus came to earth to solve the problem of 'inauthenticity'. Henderson's solution to this 'problem' is synergism. Think about it. His solution makes your salvation based upon you, your decision and your actions. Ironically, after listening to the sermon 3 times, we're still not sure what Pastor Henderson was teaching we are being saved from.

What an absolute disrespectful, irreverant disgrace!!!

This looks more like an AC/DC concert than the house of God.........more like satan's playground!

I am actually a member at Buckhead Church and was there for this particular service that is shown in the video. By simply looking at an intro production, I can see how it would seem like Buckhead Church might just be a watered down church that will do anything to attract people. It could be nothing further from the truth.
The point of the message wasn't to tell people they need to be saved, but more for those that already claim to be, yet still live life projecting an image that doesn't line up with who they really are. No matter what you say, this is a huge problem for many in the church today.
The point of the "ladies & gentleman" song was to set the stage in saying how we so often times live our lives as simply a "Show", projecting an image contrary what we say we believe. Believe me, this isn't a normal thing for every service or series. It was used to make a point. The message was actually about removing our lives from the shadows and the "show" so that we can experience true life change and true reality in Christ.
You're actually absolutely right about how it is up to us and our own actions. It's up to us to choose to die to ourselves daily, so that Christ can live through us. We all know that Christ has already done everything to take care of the problem of sin, but sometimes the hardest part of Christianity is truly leaving our self/sin nature behind so that Christ can change us from the inside out.

Knowing many of the people on staff at Buckhead Church, the heart of this place is to reach and impact the communities in which they reside for the complete amplification of the glory of God. And if you ask me, I've seen too many lives restored and changed in Christ to argue otherwise.

Be careful to judge a church based on one youtube video. If you come and attend for a while and still think it's a place full of deceit, then that's fine. I just think as a fellow Christian, we should be spending time encouraging each other and our churches rather than bashing the imperfections that you might see.
You should come see us sometime!

Jared,
Thank you for your posting. However I think in this case we must be honest about the tactic used by this church to as you say make a point. If you step back with Holy Scripture in Hand and ask yourself if this type of service is even worship fit to be in front of God Almighty then we can continue to look at your statement more clearly.

But in fact Jared Holy Scripture does not need any help from the World and its way’s to make it’s point crystal-clear. I would love to be able to not only visit the church but also have the opportunity to meet with the leadership of the church. And so openly discuss these issues in light of Holy Scripture.

Thank again for comments
