“Dr. Jerry Falwell Has Passed Away”

LYNCHBURG, Va. (FOX News)— The Rev. Jerry Falwell, a prominent conservative televangelist who founded a movement that helped mold the religious right into a political power, died Tuesday after being found unconscious in his office, his aide said.
“CPR efforts were unsuccessful,” said Ron Godwin, the executive vice president for Liberty University, which was founded by Falwell. Godwin did not have any additional information on time or cause of death.
Falwell, 73, was found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. after he missed an appointment, and was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but he said Falwell “has a history of heart challenges.”
