Christmas meditations

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross (Philippians 2:5-8).

But God has demonstrated his love. When we were dead in trespasses and sins, he came; not grasping at the brightness of his glory; not shunning our lowly condition but took upon himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And that was not all. "Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even unto the death of the cross." Now I have found love. Now I know that God is not some far distant, impersonal force. Now I know that God is love.Donald Grey Barnhouse
